Om Swami, in one of his videos gives an example of what he considers to be a superlative act of compassion. A thief comes begging to a saint saying “please save me”. “They are going to kill me for stealing and I am worried for my wife and children”! The saint, out of sheer compassion, takes the blame of the robbery onto himself and gives up his life so that the thief and his family can be spared.

What constitutes a complaint?

Let’s talk about what constitutes a complaint. In the broadest sense – anything that prevents you from fully accepting a situation or a person as-is, is a complaint. Yes, that includes ranting about traffic, pollution, taxation, airplane delays, weather and everything else under the Sun. On a personal level it also includes feeling disgruntled with a spousal habit, a child’s trait, a co-worker’s attitude, a joint family setting or a friend’s personality.
